During literacy groups, students move to different centres to engage in a variety of activities. The 'must do' centres include the writing centre, word pow centre and the ninja math centre. If these are completed, they have 'can do' centres where they can participate in activities such as Reading Eggs, the finger gym and the creative centre.
Mathematics
Over the last few weeks we have been learning about fractions, time and the rotation of 2D shapes. We created our own interactive analog and digital clocks and have really enjoyed learning how to show o'clock, half past, quarter past and quarter to times on them. When rotating 2D shapes, we have learnt about full turns, half turns and quarter turns as well as how to rotate clockwise and anti-clockwise. We showed our understanding with a gingerbread man activity.
